Why does the cost depend on start and target charge?
Charging from 20% to 80% moves 60% of the battery’s capacity, not the full pack, so cost scales with that 60% — not the full battery size.
Why is DC fast charging more expensive per kWh?
DC fast charging typically costs about 2.2x the state’s home electricity rate, since public networks price above residential rates to cover equipment, real estate, and demand charges.
